Plan your visit

The car park for castle visitors is located just below the military area.

From the car park, a trail leads to the castle (c. 250 m, 10 minutes on foot). The trail will take you around the edge of the military area; it is not possible to cross the area directly.

Parking is also available on the south side at the foot of the hill, in the village of Chotyně (about 350 m, 15 minutes on foot).

Castle tours are not wheelchair accessible; the castle’s historic interiors are located on the first and second floors of the building.

Wheelchair users interested in visiting must be accompanied by an assistant, who can carry the wheelchair between floors. We highly recommend that, before your visit, you let us know when you will be arriving. To do so, please phone +420 482 724 301.

DOGS ARE NOT PERMITTED OFF THE LEAD in the courtyard, garden or park (they must be kept on a lead). Small dogs are allowed on tours if carried in a crate or in the owner’s arms.

Bicycle stands can be found at the front of the castle and in the passage behind the gateway.

To protect the rendering and the building as a whole, leaning bikes against walls or other architectural elements is prohibited.

Cycling in the courtyard, garden and park is prohibited to ensure the safety of pedestrians and to preserve the condition of the paths.

Cold and hot drinks, snacks and food you can find in the courtyard entry.

Refreshments are available next to the passage (in the castle) – in the Castle Tavern (U Mehla ze Střelic). Its opening hours are the same as the castle’s .

More information can be found on the Castle Tavern page.
